Death of Q.A. Robertson
Quincy A. Robertson, a former resident of Winfield, and also formerly editor of the Dexter Advocate, died Sunday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. George Mathers at Wagner, Okla. Death was due to tuberculosis, of which he had been a severe sufferer for six years, the last tow of which he had been practically helpless. The body was brought to Winfield Monday for Burial. He was fifty years of age.
The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at half past ten o'clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. Anna Gray, 442 west Eighth.
He was born in Iowa on September 9, 1860. While still a young boy, he came to Winfield with his parents, where he grew to manhood. He learned the printer's trade in the Courier office, where he sat type for several years. He later moved west, but came back to Cowley County about 10 years ago, and bought the Dexter Advocate, which he managed for several years. Failing health compelled him to give up this work and he went to New Mexico, Arizona and California in a vain attempt to throw off his disease that had seized upon him. The past four years he has spent in that section of the country, returning just recently to the home of his sister in Oklahoma.
Among those who survive him are his wife, Mrs. Q.A. Robertson of East Seventh Avenue of this city, his three children, Rachel, Taylor and Olivia; his sister, Mrs. Anna Gray of West Eighth, of this city, and his mother Mrs. Catherine Robertson of Wagner, Okla., his sister, Mrs. George Mathers of Wagner, formerly of this city. These kinfolks all came in to attend the funeral. Also Mrs. Robertson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Ward of Dexter.
