My great grandfather, Giuseppe (Joseph) Aimone, 1857-1915 married Giovanna Maria Seren Piocca, 1854-1936
Your great grandfather, Giovanni (John) Aimone, June 24, 1854- 27 April 1899 married Lucy Cerrettp. 29 March 1850 – 7 May 1928. “John” Aimone was married to Lucia (Lucy). They were my great-great-grandparents.
My great-grandparents were Peter J. Aimone, Sr. (born in 1888 and died in 1969) and Mary (born in 1887 and died in 1963). One of their children—Peter J. Aimone, Jr. was my grandfather who ran Aimone Funeral Home in Toluca, IL until the early/mid-1990s when he retired and sold that business.

Antonio/Anton, 1863-1946 married Marie Moignet, 1867-1919
The great grandfathers who lived in the northwest Italian mountain village of Turale, Alpette/CuorgneI I suspect traveled steerage from Le Havre, France in 1884 to the U.S. They settled first in Braidwood, Will County and moved to better coal fields in Toluca, Marshall County area.
Microfilmed Cuorne civil records have been obtained and translated by Scott Swanson [sswanson@butler.edu] who is a middle ages historian and genealogist. His mother is an Aimone that settled in Michigan. Scott has also checked and translated microfilmed Catholic church records in the Piedmont region.

I spotted our relationship in the 1900 U.S. Census for Bennington Township, Marshall County, IL under the spelling of “Annon” (sometime spelled “Armone”)
