Susannah Turner and Thomas Yancy never married. Yancy Turner was born from their relationship. In Caswell County January Court 1787, Susannah Turner acknowledged she had received "full satisfaction of Thomas Yancey concerning maintaining of her baseborn child, provided he does not take away the said child." After Susannah married James Donoho, they moved to Sumner County, TN.
She married James Donoho in Caswell County, NC, April 22, 1807. (James Donoho is #5955.) James Donoho willed one-third of his property, after the death of Susannah, to Yancey Turner.
Susannah Turner and Thomas Yancy had Yancy Turner, born 30 October 1786.

Susannah Turner took Thomas Graves Yancey to court for support for her illegitimate child by Thomas. This was in a day when poor women were being whipped for bastard children, but because Susannah was from a wealthy and prominent family she got support. She named the child YANCY TURNER to let everyone know "who dun her wrong"
