Amanda Jo Phelps - Pueblo Chieftain - June 01, 2000 - Amanda Jo Phelps, 21, born Aug. 10, 1978, went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2000, with her special friend, Dan Fields. Preceded in death by grandparents, Robert and Rosalie Phelps, and best friend, Bobbi Jo Barela. Survived by her daughter, Tayler Rose; mother, Rebecca A. Powers; father, Gary Joe Phelps; brother, Randy John Phelps; grandparents, John and Winona Powers; aunts and uncles, Leesa (Kerry) Meier, Clifford Powers, Bobbi (Mike) Sutton and Karen (Paul) Block; cousins, Kindra, Makale, Kayla and Holly; along with numerous loving great-aunts and uncles and good friends. She will be sadly missed by aunt Patricia Powers-Ruybal. Amanda was employed at Peerless Tyre Company. She loved all living things. A special love of elephants led her to dreams of becoming a veterinarian. She could not let any injured or sick animal go without helping them. Memorial service, 10 a.m. Saturday, Lake Avenue Baptist Church, 1345 Lake Ave. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service. Cremation, Imperial Crematory. Private family inurnment, Imperial Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tayler Rose Phelps-Lenz Educational Fund in memory of Amanda through US Bank.
