Carlton Merle Roach, 65, of Greenville died July 17, 2007, at his home. services are Friday at 10 a.m. at Peters Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Bobby Sparks and Rev. Randy Rather officiating. Burial will follow at East Mount Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Roach was born Aug. 6, 1941, in Texhoma, Texas, to Merle Roach and Euna Mae Johnson Roach. On Jan. 21, 2006, he married Jeanette Carter in Greenville.

Mr. Roach worked as a truck driver for Byrd Trucking for 35 years delivering mail for the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are his mother of Greenville; his wife, Jeanette Roach of Greenville; four sons, Billy Roach of Texarkana and Carlton, Merle, and Eddie and wife Wendy all of Greenville; two daughters, Daphne Jones and husband Dean and Rena Roach of Greenville; one stepson, Robert Roach; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Worley and husband Jimmy; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Eddie, and Jacob Roach and Jessica, Raymond, Daniel and Danielle Jones; a great-grandbaby, Mason Jones; three brothers, Eddie Roach and wife Judy of Eagle Springs, N.C., Richard Roach and wife, Tammy of Greenville and Stephen Roach and wife, Penny of Greenville; eight sisters, Lucy Perrilloux and husband Ellis of Greenville, Carolyn Smith and husband Billy J. of Sheridan, Ark., Linda Ritchey and husband Johnny of Cash, Betty Wright and husband Ralph of Benton, Ark, Kathy Harville of Greenville, Ann Fite and husband Jerry of Greenville, Barbara Almon and husband Billy of Greenville, and Johnnie Hudson of Lone Oak; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

His father; a brother, Robert Roach; and one sister, Patricia Gambrell preceded him in death.

Pallbearers are Raymond Jones, Sr., Jimmy Worley Sr., Eddie Roach Sr., Carlton Roach Jr., Billy Roach, Phillip Hopkins, Chris Fite and Ellis "Stricker" Perrilloux.
