“At the moment it is impossible to tell which of the men on this name was Giovanna Ceretto=Brac’s father. Hers is the only baptismal record for Pietro and Domenica, and it comes after thirty years of baptismal records first for Pietro son of Bartolomeo and Maddalena Goglio, who were married 17 July 1689 Alpette; the for Pietro son of Domenico and Elena Goglio who was married 5 April 1701 Alpette.Godparents are less useful in sorting out families here because Maddalena and Elena were both daughters of MIchele Goglio. There is no marriage record for Pietro and Domenica, not any other appearance of Domenica in the register, so one might assume a scribal error in Giovann’s baptismal record. Four months after Giovanna’s baptism on 4 April 1718 came the baptism of Pietro and Elena’s son Michele, so they cannot have been Giovanna’s parents. Ath the moment it looks as though she might have been the last child of Pietro Ceretto=Brac and Maddalena Goglio whose previous child had been baptised fully nine years earlier on 7 September 1709. No way of telling at this moment.142
