Helen Everhart Jennings, age 88, of Maryville, passed away August 23, 2019 at Blount Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church for 53 years, and retired from ALCOA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jane Everhart; brothers Arlie, Dot, and Gleen Everhart; sisters, Ruth Redmond, Betty Jean Everhart.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Charles E. Jennings; her sons David (Pam) and Steve (Charlotte) Jennings. Her daughters Linda Lairamore and Lori (Dale) Carver. She has 11 grandchildren, Aaron (Elizabeth) Jennings, Christopher (Jill) Jennings, Brad (Brittany) Jennings, Catherine Jennings, Doug (Meredith)
Christensen-Jennings, Adam Lairamore, William (Melanie) Lairamore, David Lairamore, Jenna and Allison Ott, and Matthew Carver. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, Addison and Taylor Jennings, Reece Jennings, and Palmer Lairamore.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Monte Vista Baptist Church with the funeral to follow with Rev. Jerry Mantooth officiating. The entombment will be 11:00 AM, Monday, August 26, 2019 at Grandview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Monte Vista Baptist Church Building fund.

Notes for Charles Edward (Spouse 1)
Charles E. “Charlie” Jennings, age 92, of Maryville, passed away at Asbury Place on June 30, 2020.

He fell and suffered a broken hip in late January, from which he simply could not recover. A US Navy veteran and a Mason. Charlie had a long, successful career at ALCOA, from which he retired in 1990. He was a devoted member and Deacon at Monte Vista Baptist Church, which he faithfully attended with his beloved wife, Helen, until she died in August, 2019. Charlie is also preceded in death by his parents, Buel and Edna Jennings, his brother Roy, and his sister Martha.

He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Jennings and Helen’s brother, John C. Everhart (Helen). He is also survived by his children, David (Pam) Jennings, Stephen (Charlotte) Jennings, Linda Lairamore, and Lori (Dale) Carver. Charlie cherished watching his grandchildren grown up, including Aaron, Christopher, Brad, Doug, Catherine, Adam, Will, David, Jenna, and Allison. His great-grandchildren, Addison, Taylor, Reece, and Palmer were the light of his life in his later years.

No funeral service is planned due to the current pandemic. A private service for the family will be held on July 2, 2020, at Grandview Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest alongside Helen.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlie’s memory to Monte Vista Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated.
