Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Eads. Inurnment will follow in the Eads Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Weisbrod Nursing Home Auxiliary.
Roberta Marie Belle ws born on November 1, 1920 to Robert and Irene Blooding in Eads, CO and went to be with her loved ones on December 8, 2014. Roberta went to the Eads School until her sophomore year when she left school and married Paul Martin Wissel on February 21, 1938. To this union was born 5 daughters, Madonna, Phyllis, Lois, Doris and Heleen. They lived and farmed in the Prairie Queen area until 1954.
They moved to Denver in 1956 and Roberta worked in a café, bank and a department store. She became very active in her church in Denver where she was active in the rosary making society. While in Denver, she met Sterling O. Tolby and they were married on March 5, 1966. When Sterling retired they moved to Albequerque, New Mexico. While there she was instrumental in starting a rosary making group and they made more than 70,000 rosaries for homeless and sent many to Mexico and missions. They lived there until Sterling passed away on May 12, 1992. Roberta then returned to Denver in 1994 to be closer to her children. She was still active in her church and TOPS which she was in for 40 years.
Roberta moved to Ft. Collins in March of 2008 to a retirement center. Her children then moved her to the Prairie Pines Assisted Living in Eads in September of 2008. She became an Eads Extended Care Facility resident in 2011. In May of 2013 her family gathered to have five generation pictures done of all three of her daughters. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Irene, her husband Sterling Tolby, daughters Doris and Heleen, sister Ella, brother Arthur, grandsons Charles Paul Pollreis and Kyle Davis, step son Charles Tolby and son-in-law Roeland Elliston.
Roberta is survived by her daughters Madonna (Phil) Pollreis of Eads, CO, Phyllis (Floyd) Griswould of Eads, CO and Kearney, AZ, and Lois Elliston of Windsor, CO. She is also survived by her brother Lee (Maxine) Blooding of Ft. Collins, CO, her sister-in-law June Blooding of Eads, CO, 10 grandchildren, 9 gret grandchildren , 10 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Paul Martin Wissel, the firstborn of five boys to Henry and Nellie Viola Martin Wissel, was born December 17, 1910, in Roca, Nebraska. Paul completed his formal education, consisting of school through the 10th grade, at the school system in Hickman, Nebraska. In March of 1931, the Wissel family moved to Kiowa County, homesteading nine miles south of Galatea. In, 1935, they moved to the Prairie Queen community. The Wissel family were farmers, and this would be Paul's lifelong occupation. In February of 1937, Paul and Marie Blooding were married. They would have five children: Madonna, born January 8, 1938; Phyllis, born April 19, 1940; Lois, born on July 29, 1941; Doris, who died at six months of age after being born breech in the back seat of the car on the way to the hospital; and Helene, who was stillborn. Paul and his family continued to farm, all the while raising pigs and chickens and milking cows. Paul and Roberta saw to it that their children had a close relationship with their grandparents, and realized the importance this relationship would prove throughout their life. January 3, 1964, Paul and Maria Elena Gonzalez-Lomeli were married. Paul and Maria had two children, Viola Karen, born December 21, 1964; and Paul Martin Wissel, Jr., born September 7, 1968. Paul moved in to Eads in the early 1990's but continued to farm until 1995. At the age of 85, Paul was still active on the farm. Paul loved to read, and enjoyed looking at the crops and feeding his cat. In 1998, Paul's health began to decline, and in the spring of 1999, he moved to the Fort Lupton area to be near his daughter, Viola, and her husband, Doug. Paul learned to speak Spanish, and got to travel extensively in Mexico. Paul was a quiet, reserved man, and will be missed by many. Paul Martin Wissel died October 19, 2001, at the Fairacres Manor in Greeley. He is survived by his five children, Madonna(Phillip) Pollreis, Phyllis(Floyd) Griswold, Lois(Roeland) Elliston, Viola(Doug) Chandler and Paul Martin Wissel, Jr. He is also survived by his four brothers, Ward(Ruth) Wissel, Burrel(Ruby) Wissel, Keith Wissel and Duane Wissel, as well as nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, one grandson and one sister-in-law. Funeral mass was said October 26, 2001, at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kit Carson with Father Tom Kloppenberg, C.M. officiating.
Marilyn Ward played the organ for the mass. An evening vigil service was held October 25, 2001, at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Eads. Casket bearers were Darwin Nelson, Cardon Berry, Doug Uhland, Tim Weeks, Virgil Lessenden and Dwight Lessenden. Honorary casket bearers were L.D. Nelson, Harvey Hollis, Harvey Kelley, Norman Whaley, Pete Koch and Keith Uhland.
Final grave side commital services were at the Eads Cemetery in Eads.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kiowa Home Health Services.
Arrangements were under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
