Early Life: Bill was born at home on December 17, 1925, to William Thomas Patton and Mary Angeline Sparks Patton. He grew up in Southern California on the west side of Los Angeles and attended school in Gardena and Wilmington, California.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: When World War II broke out, Bill left high school early and enlisted in the United States Navy. He served in the Pacific on the USS Bunker Hill CV17 as an Aviation Electrician's Mate, including the day, May 11, 1945, when the ship was struck by two kamikaze aircraft, suffering over 600 casualties. Following the war, he went to work for General Telephone Company in San Bernardino, California, where he met and married the former Frances Trozera. They raised their family in Rialto, California, where they lived until 1982 when they moved to Lindon, Utah. Bill enjoyed boating, fishing, off-road car racing, and mostly puttering in his garage where he had every tool imaginable. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. William Roy "Bill" Patton passed from this life in June 2015.
Survived By: His wife, Frances; his children: Nancy (Kerry) Nielson, of Boston, MA; Judy (Robert) Hansen, of Albuquerque, NM; son, Bill (Suzan) Patton, of Cedar Hills, UT; 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren with one on the way.
