Phoebe was the daughter of William Vaden and Frances Wilson. William's 1770 will listed her as "Phebe Mann". After the death of her husband Robert Mann, Phoebe Vaden Mann married Moza Hurt on 18 April 1782 in Halifax County. 2 of her daughters, Elizabeth and Agnes, married sons of Moza Hurt. Elizabeth married Rev. Philemon Hurt, and Agnes married Rev. James Hurt.
