Succumbs at 93

Joseph F. McCracken. 93, of 701 West Benton street, died Tuesday evening at his home, following a long illness.

He was born May 1, 1868, in Washington College, Tenn., the son of David and Julia Miss McCracken. He married Theola Seehorn on February 6. 1908.

The couple farmed seven, miles west of Iowa City wit] 1929, when they moved to Iowa City. Mr. McCracken was then employed at the interurban stockyards until 1946.

He was a member of Unity Presbyterian church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Edwin W. Klenk of Iowa City; three grandchildren, and h two great-grandchildren. Mr." McCracken was preceded in death by his wife last August, and by two sisters and eight brothers.

The funeral is planned for 1:30 p.m.Thursday at the Oathout Funeral chapel, with the Rev. Russell Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.
