Loving mother, faithful wife, wonderful grandmother of 4 generations, her hope's joy. Hazel Aldine Compton of Strafford, MO, transferred from this life, November 16, 2013. She was born October 11, 1921 in Kansas City, MO. She married her husband George W. Compton on May 3, 1938; on July 21, 1974 he passed away. Hazel spent the rest of her years by herself taking care of family. She loved her family, reading her Bible, big Sunday dinners, gardening and flowers, she was always there for all of us and we will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Royal and Gertrude (Bowler) Ryan, two infants, her son Donald, three grandsons; Tim Hager, Brian Hager and Josh Smith, her sisters Rose Mitchell, Cleo Steward and Londene Davis. Hazel leaves a loving family, sister Elva Mae Scott and brother Charles W. Ryan both of Washington, her children: Dolly and Bob Hager of Kansas, Margaret Harris of Strafford, Marilyn and Steve Dollins of Strafford, Jane Compton of Ohio, Judi Underwood of Kansas, Ruby Struble of Springfield, Debbie and Ray Smith of Fair Grove, Jim and Linda Compton of Strafford, Danny and Susan Compton of Republic, David Compton of Strafford, and daughter-in-law Mary Compton of MO. Visitation will be Wednesday Nov. 20, 2013 from 10-11 am at Greenlawn Funeral Home North with a Celebration of Life service starting at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Danforth Cemetery Strafford. The family wants to thank Seasons Hospice, Dr. Mechlin, Skip, and Chaplain Elizabeth.

Strafford- George W. Compton, 55, of route 1 Strafford, died at 10 pm, Sunday in Cox Medical Center,
in Springfield after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Mr Compton, a life long resident of Strafford, was a Vetran of World war 11 and a member of North Star
Baptist Church, Surviving are his wife Hazel and three sons, Jim of Strafford and Dan and Dave both of
the home, seven daughters Mrs Dolly Hager, state of Kansas, Margaret A. Harris and Marilyn J. VanBuren
both of Strafford, Mrs Ruby Cash of Oklahoma, Mrs Wilma Cheney of Ohio, Judy and Debra, both of the home,Three brothers, James of Strafford, Bert and Harold of Springfield, a sister, Mrs Dorothy Cookson
of Springfield, and 15 grandchildren. Klinger will be in charge of arrangements.
