William P Shely purchased 112 acres of land on Beaver Creek from Gabriel Evans of the Co of Fleming, Ky, for $175 on 29 May 1822 but the deed was lost and finalized with the indenture 9 Oct 1825.

There are many deeds in the Harrison County House relating to the 112 acres owned by William P Sheely on Beaver Creek. It was proven in the May Court of 1829.

Beginnning in 1846 the documents on the 112 acres onb Beaver Creek begain with some of the William P selling their ibterest to eacch other and designation their power of attorney regarding their ihterest in the 112 acres.

It was proven in open court by the oaths of Margaret Ball, Milly Smith and John Arnett that William Shely in his last illness made his nuncupative will as follows namely that his wife Lydia Shely should have and enjoy all of his property during her natural life and that she should keep together raise and educated his children

(Lavonne’s note: Margaret Shely Ball married Henry Ball, Milly is Mildred Shely Smith who married John Smith. I have not been able to associate John Arnett with the family. Margaret and Milly are sister of William P. Shely, and children of David Shely and Mary Hurst. We know that William Shely’s wife is Lydia and there is a marriage record for them..she was Lydia Miller)
