(1) Mar 1999: The Hurt Family Genealogy Page http://members.tripod.com/~suzid/hurt.html Susan Barger Donahue 411 East Roosevelt Road, Wheaton, Illinois 60187 (2) Aug 2003: Anthony Bennezette Hurt (b. 1842) - www.geocities.com/kasmith_1966/hurt/abhurt.htm - Mamie is remembered for her wit, intelligence and charm. She was religious and a faithful tither. She had a great laugh, a lot of energy, enthusiasm and fun about her. She had great love and respect for her fmily, and when she was with her favorites she enjoyed giggling, laughing and having a great time. When she wanted to do something she would "generally go right on and do it". She maintained strong ties to the Hurt and Collins family descendents throughout her lifetime. “I am bound to them though I cannot look into their eyes or hear their voices. I honor their history. I cherish their lives.
I will tell their story. I will remember them for I am the result of the very love, struggle, sacrifice and journey of thousands.”
