Obituary published in The Milan Exchange, Milan, Gibson CO, TN, on Saturday, May 7, 1881, p. 3. as follows:
Freddie Hurt, infant son of A. B. Hurt, died last Sunday night. An Allwise Providence has seen fit to transplant this little flower ere it opened into bloom, to his kingdom, where it can bloom through all eternity a perfect flower. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved parents.
