Arlington, Tarrant Co., Texas, April 10. -- J. R. Jones, 95, died here at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arthur W. Jones, early Tuesday. He is survived by three sons, O. S. Jones of Los Angeles and T. H. Jones and J. J. Jones of Tucson, Ariz., and two daughters, Mrs. Arthur W. Jones of Arlington and Mrs. L. S. White of Wichita Falls. Following services at the home Wednesday morning the body will be sent to Roswell, N.M. for burial. Services here will be conduced by the Rev. Mr. McMillan of Cleburne and the Rev. Mr. Duckworth of Fort Worth. --Dallas Morning News (Dallas, TX), Wednesday, April 11, 1928, part 1, page 3.

It is with pleasure that we announce the addition of another writer to our regular staff. Vaughn D. Shofner was born in Howard County, near Center Point, Arkansas. He is the son of A. C. Shofner, and the grandson of J. P. Shofner, a gospel preacher of the past, and the great-grandson of J. R. Jones, another well known preacher of the past. - Gospel Light, July 17, 1947, p. 2 (218).
