Charles E. Hubbell, 70, of Rose passed away Monday, February 8 in Tulsa. Charlie was a retired truck driver and school bus driver. No public services are planned, local arrangements are under the direction of Key Funeral Home in Locust Grove.
Charlie was born on January 3, 1940 in Cabool, Missouri to George and Minnie(Butts) Hubbell. He grew up and attended school in Missouri. He was one of 14 children and left school in the 8thgrade to work and help his family. One of Charlie's first jobs in Missouri was digging graves by hand for the local funeral home. In 1974, he moved to Rose where he has lived ever since. Charlie was a truck driver for many years but all of the locals around Rose knew him as their beloved school bus driver. He drove the school bus in Kansas and Oaks for several years. He loved kids dearly and they loved him. Charlie retired in 2008. He was a man who never met a stranger and one of his favorite sayings was " He might not know it, but he's gonna be my friend!" He had a love for all people and he especially loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include: 1 Brother- Jack Hubbell of Kentucky 5 Sisters- Mildred Lacy of Mountain Grove, MO Patsy Hendrichs of Cabool, MO Fay Hubbell of Mountain Grove, MO Etheline Sanders of Mountain Grove, MO Margaret Kirkland of Rose 2 Nephews- Robert Kirkland and wife Cara of Rose Johnny Kirkland of Catoosa 3 Great Nieces- Kenli and Kyli Bailey and Morgan Kirkland 2 Great Nephews- Hunter and Zachary Kirkland
He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 siblings, 1 brother-in-law, Bob Kirkland and 1 nephew, Dale Kirkland.
