WILLIAM HURT, PROMINENT LEBANON FARMER, DEAD
William Hurt, 74, one of the prosperous farmers of Russell county, died Monday, January 31.
Mr. Hurt was a life long citizen of this county and spent his entire life on his farm one mile east of Lebanon. Until recent years operated a waterpower grist and sawmill on his farm, powered by Little Cedar Creek. For the past few years Mr. Hurt has been declining in health which has kept him confined to his home and prevented his supervising and operating the farm which has been in charge of his son, Mekin.
Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. C. H. Wright, of the Methodist church at d Dr. J. T. Stinson, of the Baptist church. Mr. Hurt is survived by his widow Mrs. William Hurt, three daughters and two sons.
Miss Carrie Hurt of Lebanon, Mrs. Martha Hutton, Glade Springs, Va., and Mrs. William Ketron Lebanon, Robert Hurt, Kingsport Tenn., and Mekin Hur Lebanon. Enterment followed in the West Hill cemetery in charge of Finney Easterly Funeral Home on Tuesday Feb. 1st. at 3:00 p. m.
