Jim" was the 5th child of Charles Henry Hurt and Sarah Scudamore Hurt. He was a farmer on the reservation where his acreage was located. He was married to Bertha Begley. After Bertha's death he then married Naomi Gladys Graham. After Naomi passed away he married Bertha Gigsby whom he later divorced and married Gurtrude May Bond Yates.
