OBIT. -- JAY G. HUBBELL -- Jay Gould Hubbell, son of the late George and
Minnie White Hubbell, died March 27, 1990 in St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri, He was born in Texas County, August 24, 1924 and at the time of his passing was 65 years, seven months and three days of age. He was a lifelong resident of this area having attended the Box Angle school. In 1943 he joined the U.S. Army and served until his discharge in 1945. In more recent years he worked as a logger in timber work, a likable and friendly person who will be missed by his family and friends. Many years ago he was baptized into Gum Springs Baptist Church where his membership remained. Besides his parents he has been preceded by two sisters, Celia Koznecki and Imogene Brown and two brothers, Steve and George Albert.
He leaves his companion, Ruth, of the home, Route 4, Mtn. Grove; eight
children, Loretta Winters and Linda Thompson of Texas, and Betty Kelley, Bonnie Parsons, Debbie Gould, Brenda Smith, Ted and Andy Smith of Mtn. Grove; five brothers, Luther of Nampa, Idaho, Jack of Shepheard Falls, Kentucky, Clark of Reno, Oklahoma, Walter of Exeter, Missouri and Johnny of Ozark, Missouri; four sisters, Mildred Lacy of Mtn. Grove, Patsy Smith and Faye Pool of Exeter, and Etheleen Sanders of Hartville; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were 10 a.m. Friday, March 30, 1990 in Elliott-Gentry Chapel with Rev. Ed Kelley officiating. Burial was in Monger Cemetery.
