Age 54 of White House passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Alive Hospice Madison Campus. She was born January 17, 1963 in Springfield, TN to Jimmy and Peggy Lane Briggs. She was a 1981 graduate of White House High School. She attended Austin Peay State University and worked as a Senior Marketing Director for an Engineering Firm. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. She loved traveling, cooking, watching cooking shows and knitting hats for cancer patients. She served as treasurer for the Josie Mezzo Foundation and worked with Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Lillian Lane and Curnie and Mamie Briggs. She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Atkins, White House; sons, Preston Kyle Ruffin, White House, TN, Evan Tyler Ruffin (John Fornoff), Somerset, Massachusetts and David Lee (Evelyn) Atkins, Columbia, Mississippi; brothers, Mark (Karen) Briggs and Tim (Andrea) Briggs, both of White House, TN; sister, Melanie (Bryan) Jones, White House, TN; 1 granddaughter, Ella Marie Atkins; 7 nieces and nephews, Barry Hutchison, Sarah Briggs, Hannah Jones, Matthew Jones, Nathan Jones, Taylor Briggs and Lily Briggs.
