!Bennie was born Earl Brewer. He was adopted when 10 days old by Sam and Allie Tippens. They divorced when he was about five and he was raised by Allie and her second husband, George Ashley.
!Earl Brewer was adopted by Samuel and Allie Gladys Tippins. At three years of age his name was changed to Benjamin Nolan Tippins. Later his adopted mother and father were divorced and Allie Gladys married a George Ashley. 5 April 1992 Benny was able to meet some of his blood relatives, the Brewer family. The reunion was held in the VFW hall located between Houston and Cabool, Texas County, Missouri.
