Notes for William Henry (Spouse 1)
William Henry Moyers Sr. 77, of Brunswick, departed this life Saturday morning, May 7, 2016, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at First United Pentecostal Church with Pastor Danny Webster and Bishop H.E. Wheatly officiating.

Born Nov. 22, 1938, in Brunswick, Ga., to the late Patrick Henry Moyers Sr. and Ellen Wilcox Moyers, he served in the Georgia National Guard, joined the U.S. Navy, and worked at Hercules Powder Co., retiring after 37 years. Mr. Moyers was a member of First United Pentecostal Church since 1975. He was an exceptional woodworker, great mechanic and basically a "jack-of-all-trades." Among his hobbies were planting vegetables and reading. He was a "pushover" for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always having special treats for them.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary M. Moyers; four children, William H. Moyers Jr. (Cici), Robert E. Moyers (Laura), Valda M. Knecht (Richard) and Tara M. Mims (Lucky); 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his mother, Ellen Wilcox Moyers; three sisters, Mary Ellen Vasquez, Gloria Collins and Carol Sue Pierce; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two brothers and one sister.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to those at the Senior Care Center and Hospice of the Golden Isles for all their loving care and attention bestowed upon "PaPa."

Visitation for friends and family will be held in the church fellowship hall, immediately following the service.

“I am bound to them though I cannot look into their eyes or hear their voices. I honor their history. I cherish their lives.
I will tell their story. I will remember them for I am the result of the very love, struggle, sacrifice and journey of thousands.”
