Notes for Jeptha Wayne CARTER
Dr. Jeptha Wayne "Jep" Carter passed away Saturday May 8, 2021, in Tucson, Arizona, of respiratory complications and COPD. Jep was born August 28, 1947, the son of Donna Faye (Smith) and Gerald Ray Carter in Silver City, New Mexico.

Jep was raised in Silver City, NM, where he attended school and graduated from Silver High School. Upon graduation he joined the Marine Corps where he served proudly as a First Force Recon, First Platoon Marine in Viet Nam and was honorably discharged as Sergeant in Nov. 1968. Upon his return home he moved to Phoenix Arizona and attended diesel mechanic school and went to work for Arizona Tank Lines.

In March of 1971 he began his Chiropractic studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. Going to school during the day and working nights for the City of Davenport as a diesel mechanic.

On June 25, 1971, Jep married Dorothea "Dotty"

Upon graduation in June 1973, he and Dr. Dotty came back to New Mexico and started Carter Chiropractic Center in Silver City, NM, opening March 3, 1975. Jep retired 39 years later.

Dr. Jep loved working on his patients, especially those PRCA cowboys! He also loved adjusting animals, especially horses. His love of the great outdoors had him on many hunting, fishing, and camping trips with his family and friends. Jep, thru his children also participated at the Grant County Fair.

Jep is preceded in death by his parents, Donna Faye (Smith) and Gerald Ray Carter; and his brother, Gale.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothea "Dotty"; their children, Ky (wife Roea) and Dr. Cori; his sister, Jacque (husband Charles); grandchildren: Kayleb, Abbiegail, and Jaxon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
