Carl M. Ryan

Carl M. Ryan. 88, of Moberly died Tuesday at 11:05 a.m. in his home following a long illness.

Mr. Ryan was born Jan. 4, 1906, at Morrisville, MO, a son of the late Elbert (Penny) and Nettie Louella King Ryan. He joined the Colorado National Guard 157th Infantry Company H in 1924.

An auto mechanic for 52years, Mr. Ryan started working when he was 17 years old. He moved to Moberly in 1940 and was employed by Henry A. Taylor until 1950. Then he moved to Bolivar. Mr. Ryan returned to Moberly in 1961 and again worked for Henry A. Taylor. He retired from Thomas Motors here in 1978.

On Aug. 9, 1930, he and Genevieve E. Brown were married at Bolivar. Mr. Ryan was a member of the Full Gospel
Church in Ventura,CA.

Surviving are his wife and daughter-in-law, Floyd M. and Tressa Ryan, Bolivar; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty and Les Allen, and Les Allen, and Helen Joan (Jo) Mills, all of Boonville and Alice Gene and Jack Midgley, Santa Rosa, CA; and a son and daughter-in- law, Roy Lee and Elaine Ryan, Moberly; three half-sisters in California, two sisters-in-law in Tillar, AR, and Smithville, MO; 14 grandchildren and 26 great- grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Cemetery at Bolivar. Rev. Tom Brown will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday at Cater Funeral H o m e I n Moberly.
