Notes for George Alexander (Spouse 1)
It should be noted that many of the Moyers, changed their surname to Myers, and some even may have used Myers. In this cemetery I find both spellings used. My Moyer relatives moved to Missouri from White Pine, Jefferson Co., TN before 1842, and they used the Myers spelling.

George married Martha 23 Nov 1826 at White Pine, TN.

George's Grandfather Christopher Moyers was born in Orange Co./Madison Co., VA, and served as a first Lt. in the Revolutionary War. They were members of the Hebron Lutheran Church. Christopher received a land grant 2666 acres of after the war and it was the area of today's White Pine, Jefferson Co. Tn

“I am bound to them though I cannot look into their eyes or hear their voices. I honor their history. I cherish their lives.
I will tell their story. I will remember them for I am the result of the very love, struggle, sacrifice and journey of thousands.”
