Pearl Estel Grimes was born 25 November 1885 in Cherokee County, Texas to Jim and Cassie Alexander Grimes. She first married Sam B. Franklin Harris 12 April 1903 in Cherokee County, Texas. They had one daughter named Lula N. Harris. She later married David L. Jenkins. They had three children named Julius Preston, Illabell, and G.W. Jenkins. Pearl Grimes Jenkins died 24 July 1963 in Hopkins County, Texas and was buried in the Nelta Cemetery.
