Clyde Lee Roller, 78, of Alderson, died October 4, 2013, in McAlester. He was born to Alva and Mary (Cook) Roller July 16, 1935, in Garfield, Ark. He graduated from High School in Garfield, Ark. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Gunnery Sergeant after 17 years. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He married Betty Joan Brewer in 1976 in Illinois. He worked for Quincy Paper Mill in Quincy, Illinois and then worked and retired as foreman from J.I. Case, heavy equipment manufacturing in Burlington, Iowa. He then worked for several years at a Farm King store in Burlington, Iowa, before moving to Alderson. He was a member of the American Legion. She enjoyed gardening vegetables, fishing and hunting. He is survived by, his wife Betty Roller of the home; sons, Rex Roller, and wife, Pam, of Palm Bay, Florida, Doug Roller, and wife, Lisa of Cocoa, Florida, Jimmy Watkins, and wife, Darla, of Hartshorne, Robert Dale Watson, and wife, Darlene, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, John Watson, and wife, George Ann of Atlantic Beach, Florida, Randy Watson, and wife, Pam, of Richland, North Carolina; daughter, Tammy Stannard and husband, Ed, of Jacksonville, North Carolina; 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Roller, of Brooklyn, Iowa; sister, Peggy Davidson, and husband, Willie, of Rogers, Ark.; sister-in-law, Belle Roller, of North English, Iowa; several nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Mary Roller; brother, J.D. Roller, two great-grandchildren, Sean Kaleb Watson and Ayden Watson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Chaney's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jamie Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with Military Honors by the U.S. Marine Corps. Arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Rex Roller, Doug Roller, Randy Watson, Brent Horton, Andrew Smith and Robert Dale Watson.
