Nellie Owens Tuck Deacon, born October 23, 1912 in Duluth, GA to Ollie and Eva Atkinson Owens, passed away July 13, 2006 at Rosemont of Stone Mountain where she moved the 1st of June after 66 years in the home she and her husband, Elwin, built and where they raised their family in the Candler Park area.

Nellie was the oldest of 6 children and all of whom predeceased her. She was a long time member of Candler Park Baptist Church where for a time she served as church secretary. She was an accomplished seamstress and artist. Her mediums included water color, fabric and porcelain painting. She was a former member of GA World Organization of China Painters and a member and catered NE Atlanta Lions Club meetings.

She is predeceased by husbands, R. Elwin Tuck and Jack Deacon. She is survived by children, Rae Tuck (Tracy) Faires of Atlanta, Kathy Tuck (Les) Smith of Stone Mountain, and Roy E. Tuck , Jr. of Atlanta; grandchildren, Ned (Terri) Faires of Mauldin, SC, Neal Faires of Atlanta, Nikki (Chris) Stephens of Lawton, OK, Vicki Davis of Hiram, Tina Davis of Roswell, Chris (Nicole) Davis of Gainesville, GA, Brian (Andrea) Tuck of Plainfield, IL and Tiffany Tuck of Atlanta; and 10 great grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, July 15th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 11a.m. Interment will be in Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington.
