Notes for Thomas “Uncle Tom” TUCK
TUCK, Tom - Bro. Tom Tuck passed to his final reward at 1 o'clock Wednesday morning, April 7th, leaving a host of friends and relatives to mourn their loss but his gain. I am glad it has been my privilege to be in Bro. Tuck's home and enjoy his christian association and talk with him about the goodness of the Lord. If the subject of this sketch had lived until next July he would have been eighty-four years of age. Uncle Tom Tuck, as he was always called, came from Tennessee about 65 years ago and settled on what is known as Nubbin Ridge and spent the remainder of his life there. He told the writer of this sketch that he cut timber on the place where he passed to his final reward, 64 or 65 years ago. Everyone as far as I know had the utmost confidence in Bro. Tuck. He belonged to the Methodist church for many years and was a true friend to the church and his pastor. Rev. Elijah Buttram and Bro. Tuck cut wheat together on Father Miser's place in 1852 and it was very sad to hear Bro. Buttram and Rev. I.T. Rice tell of many things that had passed with them so many years ago. May Heaven's blessings rest on his children and loved ones. J.S. Hackler, his pastor.

Notes for Susan Ann (Spouse 2)
TUCK, Susan Ann HICKS - Died March 17th, 1902, Mrs. Susan Ann Tuck, nee Hicks. She was born in Rutherford Co., Tenn. May 23d, 1825 and was converted at the age of 18 and joined the Missionary Baptist church. She moved to Benton county 54 years ago and was married the next year to Thomas Tuck. To this union were born six children, three boys and three girls, all of whom are living. In 1875 she, with her husband, united with M.E. church, South at Tuck's Chapel, from whence it derived its name. It is a half mile from her house, which was always the preacher's home. The funeral services were held by Brothers Rice and Sturdy and her remains were laid to rest in the Tuck's Chapel cemetery. Mrs. Vianna Ferrell.

I will tell their story. I will remember them for I am the result of the very love, struggle, sacrifice and journey of thousands.”
