CLAIRBORNE TUCK (Josiah Tuck; Edward Tuck; Bennett? Tuck) was born 29 Jan. 1804 in wilkes County, Ga. and died 5 may 1880 in Walton County, Ga. He married 20 Dec 1826 in wilkes County FranceS MOORE (b. 9 Nov. 1803; d. 13 Jan. 1884). Both are buried at Bay Creek Church near Loganville, Ga. to them were born seven sons, all of whom were soldiers in the Army of the Confederacy. Only two of them returned to their homes, the remaining five having died in battle or by disease.

In the name of God Amen. I, Josiah Tuck of the County and State aforesaid, this thirteenth day of October in the Year of Our Lord Eighteen Hundred and Forty Three do make and ordain, this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following ver.

Item first. I will and desire that all my lawful Debts be paid in a convenient time after my Decease.

To my daughter Susannah McLaughlin, I give a feather Bed and furniture, and a Cow and Calf, which she has received.

To my daughter Sarah Kent, I give a feather Bed and furniture and a Cow and Calf which she has received.

To my daughter Nancy Colley, I give a feather Bed and furniture and a Cow and Calf, or the value thereof which she has received.

To my daughter, Mary Huel, I give a feather Bed and furniture and a Cow and Calf which she has received.

To my son, Claborn Tuck, I give a feather Bed and furniture and a Cow and Calf and a dark Mare which he has received.

To my son, Benjamin W. Tuck, I give a feather Bed and furniture, a Cow and Calf and bright bay Mare, the Mare he has received.

To my Grand-daughter, Tabitha C. Huel, whom I have raised, I give a feather Bed and furniture and a Cow and Calf.

To my two Youngest Daughters, Tabitha Tuck and Martha Tuck, I give them my Land and premises, Plantation Tools, Stock of all Kinds and Household and Kitchen furniture to have and to hold forever.

Item lastly. I nominate and ordain my son Benjamin W. Tuck and Luke Turner, Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and annulling all former will or wills made by me and publish and declare this to by my last.

In Testimony of which I have hereunto set my seal and signature the day and date above written.

In the Court of Ordinary, September Term 1844 personally appeared in open Court, Luke Turner and Daniel M. Irvin who being duly sworn says, that they saw the Testator Josiah Tuck, sign and seal and heard him acknowledge the annexed instrument of writing to be his last Will and Testament and at the time of his so doing he was of sound and disposing mind and memory, and that they subscribe the same as witnesses in his presence, at his request and in presence of each other, together with Richard L. Barrett.

Claborn Tuck was the son of Josiah Tuck and Tabitha Harris of Halifax County Virginia, the grandson of Edward Tuck of Old England to Prince Edward , Halifax County Virginia, the great grandson of Bennett Tuck and Hannah Carey of Kent County England.

Claborn Tuck married Frances Moore on December 20, 1827 in Wilkes County Georgia.Both are buried at Bay Creek Church near Loganville, Georgia. They had seven sons, all of whom were soldiers in the Army of the Confederacy.Only two of them returned to their homes, the remaining five having died in battle or by disease.
