John H. Powers, 88, of Pueblo, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018.
John was born Jan. 11, 1930.
John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Winona; parents, John and Hazel Powers; four sisters, Juanita Egley, Martha Smith, Georgie Wilson and Lyda Wilkerson; seven brothers, Ed, Roy, Jack, Frank, Dennis, James and Bill; and granddaughter, Amanda Phelps.
He grew up in Model, Colo., and moved to Pueblo in 1950.
John worked for CF&I Steel Mill in the maintenance department for 62 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Elks.
John will be missed by his three children, Rebecca Powers, Leesa (Santiago) Archuleta and Cliff Powers; sister, Patricia King; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Powers and Lois Powers; two grandchildren, Randy Phelps and Makale Meier; two great-grandchildren, Tayler Lenz and Arron Phelps; two great-great-grandchildren, Kylie and Jaxon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers at the Chateau at Sharmar and Sharmar Village Care Center.
A viewing will occur from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at Imperial Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will occur at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, in the Imperial Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Imperial Memorial Gardens.
