Obituary (Newspaper)
Don A. Johnson, late of 1522 E. Routt, passed away June 4, 1986. Mr. Johnson served with the Seabees during WWII and recently retired from St. Mary-Corwin Hospital. He is survived by one sister, Ethel Woodworth of Las Animas; three sisters-in-law, Roea A. Johnson of Pueblo, Charlotte Johnson of Portland, Ore., and Isadore Bowen of Fowler; a nephew, Doyle Johnson of Pueblo, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Johnson, in 1971, and by his parents, three brothers and one sister. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Sdrian Comer Garden Chapel, with the Rev. Christine R. Monro of the Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery. The family respectfully requests the omission of flowers. Those who wish may make donations to the Coronary Unit of St. Mary-Corwin Hospital through the funeral home office. The family may be contacted at 131 Idaho.

Don was in the SeaBees, 1941. United States Naval Construction Battalions, better known as the Seabees, form the Naval Construction Force of the United States Navy. Their nickname is a heterograph of the first initials "C.B." from the words Construction Battalion.
