Alfred Johnson, Quenemo, Kan., 62, died Aug. 15 at Topeka, Kan., from cancer. Survivors include wife, Mona, of the home at Quenemo; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Dixon, Greenville, N.C., Mrs. Vickie Gonzales, Pueblo; two brothers, Terrell Johnson, Grove, Okla., and Jack Johnson, Pueblo; two sisters, Mrs. Nicie Warren, and Mrs. Ellen bartlett, of Joplin, Mo.; eight stepchildren and 13 grandchildren. Born April 13, 1921, at Ellis, Kan. He lived in Melvern and Quenemo communities since 1978. He had worked for Osage County Road Department during that time. Johnson lived in the Pueblo area for many years and had worked for Pueblo Water works for 31 years. Member of Temple Baptist Church at Pueblo. A World War II veteran, he servied in the U.S. Army. Service was held today, Aug. 17, 1983, at the Quenemo Baptist Church, Quenemo, Kan. Interment, Vassar Cemetery, Vassar, Kan. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in his memory and sent to the Feltner Funeral Home.

Notes for Ethel Jane (Spouse 1)
Ethel Jane Johnson, 87, of Pueblo, went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2010. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Spicola; and son Lester Leslie. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Dixon; sons, Paul (Kristen) and Alan (Tori) Spicola; grandchildren, Rusty, Karla, Kari, Daytona, Chase and Enzo; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Abigail, Austin and Dixon; and numerous extended family members. Jane was a wonderful asset to the community. She owned her own assisted living home for the mentally ill for 35 years. Jane was loved for her feisty personality and openly speaking her mind. She enjoyed her grandchildren and spending time with them. The family would like to express special thanks to Jason. Graveside service, Noon Thursday, Imperial Memorial Gardens.
