ISABELLE BARNHART CONFER
Funeral services for Isabelle Barnhart Confer were conducted Monday, Nov. 18, 1991 at the Vase Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Walt Silveria officiated.
Her body was returned to Centre County, Pa., where funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1991 at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home in Milesburg, Pa. Interment was in the Eagle Cemetery in Boggs Township.
Mrs. Confer, 93, of 1325 Sage St., Rock Springs, died at 8:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 1991 at the Sage View Care Center.
A resident of Rock Springs for the past six years and former resident of Tucson, Ariz., and Bountiful, Utah, Mrs. Confer died following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 7, 1898 in Curtin, Pa., the daughter of the late J.C. and Laura Barnhart. She attended schools in Pennsylvania and was a graduate of high school there. Mrs. Confer received a teaching certificate from the Lock Haven Normal School and taught country schools in Pennsylvania. She married Ezekiel Confer in Bellefonte, Pa., Sept. 16, 1924 and he preceded her in death June 23, 1967. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include five sons, Thomas Confer of Rock Springs, John Confer and Ray Confer both of Tucson, Howard Confer of Upton, Calif., and Earl Confer of Oxnard, Calif.; one brother, Fred Barnhart of Mt. Jewett, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Confer was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
