D. J. Johnson

D. J. Johnson was born September& 1923 ln Casper, Wyoming and died January 5, 1997 at 12:10 a.m.in the American Fork Hospital.

He was survived his wife Evelyn I. Kemper Johnson; a daughter Phyllis Ann Johnson Fry; a son Harry C. and Becky I. Johnson,


grandson Kenneth (Kenny) E. Rippetoe and granddaughter Lorene (Renee) Rippetoe. His mother, Pearl Johnson; brothers,David lJohnson, Floyd Johnson, Harrel Johnson, Ray Lee Johnson, and Franklin Johnson. Sisters, Florene Brown, Maxine Longpre’, and Vinita Bevans. His mother, brothers, sisters, nieves and nephews are all from Texas.


D. J. was a member of the Merrill’s Marauders during WWII. He received the Bronze Star in the Pacific Theater of Operations during the Northern Solomon's Campaign. He worked for the Soil Conservation Service for 30 years and in those years worked in the states of Texas, Nevada, and New Mexico. D. J. and Evelyn retired in Decono, Colorado. In 1994, they moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah to be closer to their children.

A grave side service was held January 8, 1997 at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park. The services were conducted by Rev. Name and the American Flag was presented to Evelyn by her son Harry C. Johnson. D. J. Johnson will be missed by his family but never forgotten.
