April 26, 1882 in Sevier Co, TN, at 14 years of age. Her obituary reads, in part, as follows: "...was a girl of many superior qualities -- thoughtful, obedient, cheerful and happy; the pride of a father's heart, the one most dear to a brother and three sisters; a favorite among her schoolmates, beloved by all. Well may they mourn their loss, for the clear beam of morning promised to them many joys, and to her a bright day.
"But ah! who could mourn that there is a shore, Where storms are hushed, where tempests never rage;
Where angry skies, and blackening seas, no more With thy gusty strength, their roaring warfare
wage; That by her its peaceful margin shall be trod, That by her home is heaven and her friend is
God?" Page 25
